A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ICT Apprentice in London!

To assist the Network Manager, students and staff in the day to day maintenance of the IT infrastructure and Network.

To be responsible for the general maintenance school’s computer systems, interactive whiteboards and other related software and hardware.

Reporting to:

Network Manager, Finance Director

Responsible for:

The ICT Network system, including support and maintenance.
Ensuring that Academy Staff and Students are provided with uninterrupted access, reliability and security within the boundaries of Academy Policies and legislation relating to Data protection, Child Protection and Indecent Materials.

Liaising with:

Network manager, Head of ICT, teaching and student services staff, other staff with cross-academy responsibilities, suppliers, contractors, some external agencies and other visitors to the Academy.


This role is for an apprentice and the expectation is that the person appointed will undertake up to 3 weeks training in a year through an appropriate contractor, by arrangement with the Academy. The person appointed will be released by the Academy to attend this training at mutually agreed times in the year.


• To assist the Network Manager as appropriate in the management of the Academy’s ICT facilities.
• Work flexibly between several buildings to provide technical support for ICT
• Be responsible for the installation of, and maintenance of computer Software and hardware
• To manage on a day to day basis the ICT network, it’s staff and develop their skills and knowledge.
• To take on a supervisory role with Students and Staff as appropriate.
• To assist 6th formers with their personal devices in line with the academy’s bring your own device policy.
• Maintain an appropriate health and safety culture, undertaking a variety of risk assessments, workplace inspections & checks & acting on any findings.
• Maintain and manage the schools networks
• Monitor and take ownership of Lapsafe Trolley bookings and ensuring they are delivered to classrooms
• Monitor/ take ownership of consumables
• Ensure that the ICT Suites/LRC are ready for use each day / Load paper in printers etc
• Support teaching staff/pupils in the technical aspects of ICT
• Support the learning and teaching of ICT in the computer suite
• Run computer club as directed by Network Manager
• In liaison with the Network Manager, maintain an up to date asset register for the ICT equipment and manage the safe and correct disposal of redundant items.
• Oversee maintenance and any other relevant external contracts.
• To support the Academy in behaviour and running events.
• Any other related duties as directed by the Network Manager

• To address the appraisal targets set by the line manager.
• To monitor ICT Student Services staff development and conduct appraisals.
• To oversee staff training and maintain training records.

• To play a full part in the life of the Academy community, to support its distinctive aim, ethos and policies, and to encourage staff and students to follow this example.
• To support the Academy in meeting its legal requirements for worship, and its status as a Church School.
• To show a record of excellent health, attendance and punctuality.
