As a cover supervisor you need to be a strong character for this role, and that’s not just to manage the classroom behaviour but also teacher sniping.

The cover supervisor’s main job is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set.

The role is rewarding and a useful way of getting experience in the classroom for those with teaching ambitions.

To be a successful candidate you will need to;
-Qualifications needed to become a cover supervisor
-Have good work experience
-Knowledge of the KS3, KS4 and KS5 Curriculum 
-Have excellent team working skills
-Have strong classroom management skills
-Teach grammar
-Strong behaviour management skills
-Ability to have discussions and debate about texts with pupils and answering questions
-Differentiating and allocating extension exercises
-Be diplomatic
-Highly adaptable as there is no a regular timetable

Cover supervisors are often highly qualified and may even have QTS. Many schools specify an honours degree as a minimum educational requirement and like their CSs to have experience of working with young people.
