We have been assigned to lead a search for a driven technical Sales Engineer to join a like minded sales team to work for a leading manufacturer of high efficiency HVAC solutions.

This individual would be located within easy reach of London and reside within the home counties. Previous sales experience within the building services industry is essential, particularly focusing on the HVAC sector.

OVERVIEW

Responsible for business development selling a comprehensive range of Heating and Air Conditioning control products to Hospital Trusts, Local Authorities, System Houses and End
Users.

OBJECTIVES

• To ensure personal sales targets are met.
• To maintain existing customer base and develop new component accounts.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAJOR ACTIVITIES

*Forecasting

To discuss and agree with the MD sales budgets by market area, as well as the strategy to achieve turnover and profitability.

*Results and Estimates

To discuss results, by market area and key accounts, with the MD at regional and national sales meetings. To take agreed action on variations or anticipated changes.

*Maintaining and Developing Existing Business

To regularly visit and telephone consulting engineers, hospital boards and specifying authorities to meet clients’ needs and to achieve budgeted sales targets. To monitor action taken and to review with the MD at regional and national sales meetings.

To develop existing accounts by gaining introductions to new departments/key people with whom the business has not previously dealt with.

To keep up-to-date with clients’ plans and policy changes which may influence their buying decisions. To refer any changes to the MD and to take any necessary agreed action.

To maintain a diary of follow-up calls and visits throughout the year.

*New Business

To take action on sales leads given by existing clients or the MD and maintain a diary of follow-up calls. To ensure timely reporting back to the MD of any action taken.

To inform the MD of any new customers or potential customers.

*Communication

To submit reports on a monthly basis to the MD.

To inform the MD of any clients’ comments and, in particular, criticisms.

To inform the MD and admin. staff of your whereabouts when away from the office.
