We have a temporary vacancy for a Project Expeditor in our aftermarket business. This role is a critical to an order we have just won and we need to find someone quickly to pick up the duties (therefore we don’t want anyone on a long notice period).

The role is based at the site here in Leeds with some travel required to suppliers.

We’re looking to pay c28k for the role (max £30k). The position would be for 9 months.

The main duties & responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Project Manager to ensue clarity on priorities, status and required progressing actions
• Track the achievement of Engineering milestones and work to facilitate the smooth flow of information to support the engineering process.
• Review the ERP system (SAP) to ensure Purchase Orders are being release to plan and delivery dates support the schedule.
• Support the project managers with the latest information regarding project status and inform them of any issues which may threaten interim milestone achievement.
• Generally be proactive in driving the project according to key dates.
• Develop relationships with suppliers to ensure that all contractual delivery arrangements are fulfilled
• Production of weekly updates on delivery and forecasts against milestones, reporting any variances
• Support the projects department in receipt of all critical project documentation
• Develop close working relationship with projects, engineering and quality team to ensure progress meets with project requirements and milestones are met

Essential experience/skills for the role:

• Capable of visiting suppliers on their own.
• At least 2 years expediting experience (I know to the outside world we aren’t supposed to state the number of years’ experience due to age discrimination but we need some experience so to gauge this internally we’re saying 2 years)
• At least 2 years working experience within a manufacturing/engineering industry (as above)
• Understanding of technical requirements (reading drawings, Purchase Order’s etc.)
• Ability to work within a fast paced environment

Desirable experience/skills:

• Expediting experience within the rotating equipment industry
• Understanding of NORSOK specifications
