This Payroll and Benefits Consultant position is for a large, rapidly expanding, national retail business based in Kingston upon Hull. This is a fantastic, newly created opportunity.

As a Payroll and Benefits Consultant you will work closely with the Payroll Manager and the HR department, your duties will incdlue, however are not limited to: Work closely with the Payroll Manager and Payroll Team Leader to ensure the effective development of the payroll function, Oversee twice weekly and once monthly payroll for over 3,500 employees, providing clear guidance and support, Proactively research and implement best practice to ensure continuous improvement, Ensure all legal requirements are adhered to, Support the Payroll Manager with various ad hoc projects as required and Responsibility for implementation, processing and communication of current/new company benefits which could include: Pension, Life Assurance, Private Medical Cover, Company Cars / Cash Allowances, Holidays, Sick Pay, Bonus Schemes, Maternity, Paternity Schemes, Voluntary Benefits and Flexible Benefits.


The successful candidate will:

  • Have worked in a Payroll department previously
  • Have extensive knowledge and understanding of Payroll legislation
  • Have a keen eye for detail
  • Have implemented or assisted with the implementation of a benefits programme
