Curriculum and Quality Manager (In Animal and Equine)

£33,525 to £39,834 per annum DOE

Otley, Ipswich

Full Time, Permanent 37 hours per week

Job Summary

You will be the subject specialist; liaising with employers and industrial experts on behalf of the College. Reporting to the Director of Curriculum, you will be expected to assist in the development and implementation of a vision for the area that is in line with the vision of the College, to ensure it is achieved through effective planning and management of human, financial and physical resources available to the team.

You will have operational responsibility for the day-to-day management of the curriculum area, including the management of the quality of the curriculum content and its delivery ensuring that targets for recruitment, retention and achievement are set and met. In addition, you will undertake a weekly caseload of teaching.

Person Specification for Curriculum and Quality Manager

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent in relevant area
  • G.C.S.E, at Grade C or above, or equivalent in: Maths and English
  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Assessing and verifying qualifications
  • Ability to evaluate and relate educational change to area of responsibility
  • Proven teaching skills with lesson observation grades at or above grade 2
  • Target setting and monitoring skills
  • An understanding of ‘Safeguarding’ and its importance within the College
  • Knowledge of Quality Improvement frameworks
  • Knowledge of current Further Education Agenda
  • Understanding of teaching and learning issues within the curriculum area
  • Knowledge of the Equality Act 2010
  • Experience in a similar post
  • Ability to use Word, Excel, and Databases to produce quality related reports
  • Leading a team
  • People management experience
  • Ability to represent the Curriculum Area and interests of the College and liaise / negotiate effectively with external agencies and employees as appropriate
  • Successful experience of course leadership
  • Experience of assessing and internal verification across a range of programmes
  • Experience of Multi Agency working / working with external partners to support the needs of students
  • Experience of working with / teaching young people with special needs / LDD; their parents / carers

  • Knowledge and experience of operating internal systems such as EBS; Covalent; CMF etc.
  • Knowledge of relevant funding schemes
  • Current, relevant industrial experience
  • Experience of curriculum resource and financial planning
  • Adopt a student centred approach to the delivery of the Curriculum and a commitment to Inclusive learning
