Accounts Assistant

Circa £22,000 (dependent upon experience)

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Accounts Assistant with the Diocese of Chichester based in Hove.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for providing high quality financial administrative services to the Finance Team. Duties will include maintaining the purchase ledger, assisting with the maintenance of the sales and nominal ledgers, performing bank reconciliations, providing analysis reports as required, be responsible for petty cash and carry out other general administrative tasks as required.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience of computerised accounting systems and be familiar with accounting and book keeping terminology. However, consideration would be given to applicants who have an interest in working within a finance environment and be willing to complete the necessary qualifications (AAT) which could be supported by the Diocese.

You should be IT literate with experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Good organisational, communication and administrative skills are essential and you should be able to work methodically and accurately.
