Our client is the world's largest independent manufacturer of diesel engines, building over a million engines a year. They provide a wide range of equipment across many market sectors, including Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Rail and Industrial. They are looking for a INSTRUMENTS AND ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN to join their Lab Ops Team. This is a permanent role.

The company offer excellent benefits and a starting salary of £26000. Working regular days, Monday-Thursday 07.30 - 15.30 with half an hour for lunch and 07.30 - 12.30 on Friday (no lunch break).

Reports to the Instruments and Electronics Group Leader.
Works closely with the Test Systems, Mechanical Facilities and Electrical/Electronics engineering groups to ensure compatibility and effectiveness of test cell systems.

Responsible for the provision, commissioning, fault finding and maintenance of electrical, electro-mechanical and instrumentation equipment on CTT test facilities world-wide.
Works within standards set to ensure that work is conducted within relevant safety and design legislation and to Company standards. Evaluates safety risk before proceeding with and during work activities.
Works to priorities set by the Instruments and Electronics Group Leader.
Responsible for the implementation, calibration and commissioning of instrumentation, electrical equipment and control on test cells and rigs.
Develops skills continuously in line with technical advancements and changes in test facility design and operation.

HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline, preferably electrical / electronic engineering.
17th Edition Wiring Regulation training.
Knowledge of CTT systems, particularly those associated with Engineering.
Knowledge of Health and Safety and Design rules and legislation and techniques for ensuring that these requirements are met (e.g. risk assessment).
Experienced in the construction and operation of turbocharger test facilities and general support services.
Experienced in working with engineer and technician groups, applying resource and managing priority conflicts appropriately to ensure that the test cells are available for use and capable of performing the required tests.
Has a broad understanding of test cell/rig systems and requires a minimum of supervision.
