This high quality Joinery manufacturer specializes in high end, fast track, blue chip commercial and residential projects, mainly in the London area.

Plan and record how each project design is to be handled and how it will meet the required deadline. Overlay each project to manage a company wide design plan to meet all project design deadlines. Manage designers (draughtsman) to meet the above whilst providing well thought out & build able designs using as many company standards as practical and manage the presentation of all designs / work instructions so they meet a company standard to continually improve internal efficiencies and communication, whilst maximising value and meeting target delivery dates. Manage the design operation creatively and within the company's IMS management system ensuring design requirement are met.

- Ensure that all draughtsmen are producing drawings to the company standards.
- Check, comment and approve all company drawings (and some documents) produced by the drawing office at key stages before they are issued.
- Coordinate closely with the works and site. Any problems that arise will now be recorded, and the system adjusted to prevent similar problems from arising in the future.
- Keep a log of the drawing office workload (updated on a weekly basis), which will monitor the capacity of each draughtsman and the drawing office as a whole.
- Jointly responsible (with the Operations Director) for allocating all new work entering the drawing office to individual draughtsmen
- Allocate lead-draughtsman to oversee the project.
- Facilitate and action as necessary documentation to progress the handover meeting.
- Estimate drawing time required for each item.
- Consider lead period for materials or assemblies (see information from procurement department).
- Consider drawing office capacity, and identify any outsourcing requirements.
- Allocate draughtsmen to each job to ensure programme is met and maintained.
- Make any amendments to the Programme as necessary. Review quotations and maximise the cost benefit against this when producing working drawings.
- Produce Project Design Brief, including reference to specifications and drawings.
- Attend site to undertake site surveys, including setting out to grids and datums if required.
- Attend site to provide coordination with Professional team, including Clients and Architects if required.
- Co-ordinate all details and interfaces with other trade contractors.
- Research all necessary design development to produce working drawings that are cost effective, produce a high quality installation and maximise the benefits of our internal fabrication and installation processes.
