Our client is a leading national M&E contractor.

Overview

To lead the Manchester Business Unit, with ultimate responsibility to direct and lead the operational, financial, customer and employee strategy within the business.

As the Regional Director you will have the responsibility for ensuring a continuous pipeline of work for the business through the development of new and existing clients as well as identifying and working closely with the bid teams in order to enhance the success rate of tenders.

Key Responsibilities

·Working as part of the senior management team to achieve the overall objectives of the company by driving high standards of work and continuous improvement in process and quality of operations.

·Full P&L, budget and commercial responsibility of the business.

·Inspirational leadership of the team, developing a culture of excellence across the business.

·Understanding the market, identifying and delivering opportunities to tender.

·Managing operational teams across multimillion pound projects.

·Setting clear and measureable goals and objectives to develop business culture of performance linked to the overall strategy to drive performance.

·Ensuring business unit KPIs and targets are set and delivered.

·Developing budgets, labour forecasts, agency planning and delivering budget in line with forecasts and expectations.

·Proactively driving down costs and improve efficiency to increase business performance and profitability.

·Role model the required behaviours and standards of work, coaching and developing the workforce.

·Ensuring excellent quality and safety standards are maintained.

Qualifications, Experience & Personal attributes;

The successful applicant will:-

·Have proven history, confidence and capability to lead a commercial building services and electrical contracting business.

·Possess diverse project experience, ranging up to £5m across a variety of general building sectors.

·Demonstrate a proven track record in M&E installation

·Be a highly strategic thinker

·Possess excellent understanding of the markets and tender process and be aware of opportunities that will arise for new contracts

·Possess excellent technical knowledge of the mechanical and electrical industry

·Demonstrate experience of managing P&L, budget control and possess excellent commercial and financial acumen

·Be a customer focused thinker with outstanding interpersonal skills for communication at all levels

·Demonstrate strong leadership attributes with determination and tenacity to make a positive impact on the business

·Be a team player with excellent communication skills

·Hold a degree or equivalent in Electrical & Electronic Engineering

·Hold IOSH H&S for Managers training certificate

Additional Information

Reporting to the Managing Director this is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial individual to take responsibility for the growth and success of the Manchester business unit, which is currently a £20m turnover business operating in the building services and electrical contracting markets.

This role is part of the senior management team and being a team player is important in developing business opportunities across the group of business units.

You will manage 9 direct reports and over 100 employees in total.
