Hays Education are delighted to be working on behalf of a large secondary school in North East Birmingham to recruit for a Head of Geography for a permanent role to start in September 2017. This is a full time teaching role offered 5 days per week across KS3 to KS5. Initial tours of the school can be arranged by Hays Education as a first step in your application.

Your new Role
In your new secondary Head of Department role (Geography) you'll be required to teach the current Geography curriculum across the school. The school are seeking to appoint an inspirational Curriculum Leader to take full responsibility for the leadership of the Geography curriculum. The post holder will be expected to develop a team culture that fosters collaborative working between all teaching staff in the subject, ensuring a focused commitment to the delivery of a high quality learning experience, with excellent examination results for all students.
The role is offered as a permanent post full time, Monday to Friday and extra participation in the life of the school is expected. Due to the nature of the role it is offered as a paid to scale post with a TLR. All applications are to be dealt with by Hays Education and visits to the school can be arranged and are encouraged.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your new teaching job you will have completed your studies and hold QTS. You will be an experienced Geography teacher that is passionate about student progress and is committed to helping pupils to achieve their academic potential. The ideal candidate would have been in a long term or permanent teaching role and will be able to supply Hays with outstanding references from the previous employer.
