We are working closely with a leading Waste Services company based in Manchester. They are currently seeking a Corporate Account Manager to join their thriving Key Accounts Team. The successful candidate will become a big asset to the future of the business. As a Corporate Account Manager, you will have a managerial responsibility for leading, maintaining and building-upon existing relationships with some of the company’s most valued customers, many of whom have been identified as either national or regional key accounts for the business.

Being the first port of call for the company’s major accounts will mean that you’ll have to be a confident representative who is able to hit the ground running and can strike a connection almost instantly with the group’s major business clients. Your customer service and rapport building skills should be second-to-none but you will need to match this accommodation and hospitality with the constant referral to commercial goals set by the board. Keeping the interests of your clients and managing the P&L of each customer to guarantee revenue is retained, increased and profit margins have been met, will be crucial to your success as a Corporate Account Manager.

Preserving the services offered to key accounts is essential but you will equally need to use your initiative to spot fresh opportunities to pursue new business and provide company clients with beneficial service upgrades. Due to the company’s sole focus on waste services it is essential for candidates to have previous working experience within the industry. An existing understanding of the waste management industry, and the service offering our client supplies, is absolutely imperative. You will also have a responsibility to keep tabs on where the industry is heading and act upon contemporary changes which may or may not affect the business clients you deal with.

Most of your work will be client facing but the ability to maintain information and record relevant data is very important too, and because of this, you will need to learn several systems including Helpdesk and the company CRM. It will also be part of your duty to clearly inform others of account progress and make line managers and directors aware of potential business opportunities. Over time, you are likely to accumulate several success stories and build up a rich history of flourishing partnerships, which ultimately, the company will look to highlight in a bid to attract new clients. This will mean that occasionally you’ll be asked to become involved with the Marketing team, whose job it will be to create studies to feature the good work and progress made with the company’s key accounts.

- A professional representative of the company but someone who can build rapport and reveal their more personable side.
- Someone who keeps a close eye on reaching commercial goals and if possible, exceed these targets through great work.
- Someone who can show initiative by taking advantage of new business opportunities.
- A willingness to absorb yourself in the waste management industry and align your services to any changes faced.
- Be a clear communicator, have great business vision and ensure your activities are well-documented and analysed for future services
