The Background

This leading services firm is actively seeking a new addition to their immigration team in London. You will be expected to manage your own case load under supervision where appropriate and will also at times work jointly with colleagues on some matters. You will provide advice to a variety of clients, including employers, corporate clients and other organisations and private individuals.

The Role

As an Immigration Lawyer, you'll be:

Advising employers on sponsor licence applications and sponsor compliance
Advising employers on the requirements for Tier 1 & 2 sponsorship, including the Resident Labour Market Test and advising on applying for and assigning Certificates of Sponsorship
Advising on Tier 2 entry clearance applications and extension applications
Assisting clients with the full range of other applications under the immigration rules: partners and family members under Appendix FM, high net worth individuals and their families and others in the Points Based System, and also to students and visitors.
Assisting EEA nationals and their family members with applications made under EU law.
Advising on nationality law, naturalisation and registration applications.
Preparing bespoke submissions and cover letters to assist clients filing applications by post from within the UK or at Entry Clearance Posts overseas or Premium Service Centres in the UK.
Liaising with UKVI over the telephone and keeping clients informed of the progress of their application.
Advising on and preparing administrative reviews.
Keeping up to date with changes to UKVI policies and procedures and cascading knowledge as appropriate.
Experience and confidence in delivering training internally and externally
Writing articles and taking part in other business development and marketing activities
Billing and other administration duties.

The Person

To be successful, you'll have the following skills and experience:
Educated to degree level
A qualified solicitor with at least 4 years' PQE in immigration work, ideally with knowledge and experience of the Points Based System
