Skillfinder International recruits into the financial and banking markets across the UK, Europe and worldwide. We are looking for an experienced payments manager to join this dynamic and exciting company to carry out payments for both internal staff and external contractors.

The main duties of the role will involve the following:-

Contractor Management
Collating and approving contractor time sheets, making payments (UK and international) as well as dealing with any queries.

Internal employee payroll
- End-to-end processing and management of staff payroll using Sage 50, including correct working hours, commission, reporting etc.
- Dealing with SSP, SMP, SPP where applicable.
- Carry out all other duties such as expenses, new starters, leavers, employee payroll questions.
- Pension administration and submission of contributions.

Client and Supplier invoicing
- Raising invoices for the UK and overseas offices
- Invoicing clients for contractors
- Pay supplier invoices
- Ensuring all documentation and details are correct.

Banking and Credit Control
- Checking and maintaining all bank accounts and ensuring adequate funds
- Responsibility for the Invoice Discounting process, sending in the required - ID/payments/reconciliations report each month.
- Producing reports and updates as required
- Checking credit ratings and ensuring prompt payments
Manage debt recovery if applicable

Other duties
- Creating reports for internal billings, commission and for management meetings
- Working closely with the Accounts Manager assisting in monthly bank reconciliation
- Administration and updating of private medial healthcare details
- Liaising with colleagues in order to process time sheets, invoices, bank queries etc
- Proactively reviewing and suggesting process improvements and working with the Operations & Contracts Manager to implement such improvements.

General skills & Requirements
- Preference for AAT part qualified, CIMA, CIPP or equivalent or Degree in Business Management.
- Proven working knowledge of Microsoft packages and Sage 50.
- Recent experience of working in a fast paced recruitment/staffing environment with international multi currency payments.
- Recent experience of the various timesheets, invoicing requirements and invoice factoring.
- Accurately and thoroughly processing timesheets, invoices and expenses using various ‘double checks’, ensuring attention to detail.
- Self-starter and confident as the main point of contact for all payroll and invoicing queries.
- Excellent use of Outlook Calendar for planning day and arranging meetings.
- Time management – planning your month around contractor payroll, internal payroll, credit control, planning your day using pop up reminders, daily lists of jobs to do, reverting to your job spec and agreed timeframes, Outlook calendar, establishing deadlines and working within those deadlines allowing for any unplanned issues.
- Excellent communication skills, including written (e.g. spelling, punctuation) & verbal English, good listening abilities and well structured emails. 
- Positive attitude and work ethic, passionate about finances and the ability to transfer this enthusiasm to the role with initiative.
- Good team player, willing to learn, be proactive and punctual, arriving to work promptly and happy to stay and finish the work if deadlines are due.

Please note due to the nature of the role, holiday should not be taken during the first 3 days of the month due to contractor payroll unless absolutely necessary. Additionally, at the end of the month, holiday will only be approved if all internal payroll is completed. This is unless agreed otherwise with the Operations & Contracts Manager in advance.
