UX Designer | Perm | London | up to £55,000 p/a + bonus

A global Telecommunications brand is seeking a mid-weight UX Designer to join their Product Team, based in central London. This is a hands-on role, and is fundamentally key in shaping the customer experience journey, the success of the Digital Transformation programme and the future success of this award-winning business.

With over a decade of experience in the market-place, innovation continues to be a focus for the business. Their product and services are currently used by millions of customers across the globe, and as the business and consumer-base grows, the team are looking to add a passionate and dynamic UX Designer who will thrive in an agile, fast-paced environment.

The ideal UX Designer will be a strong communicator, able to conceive and conduct qualitative and quantitative user research, and translate it into sitemaps, wireframes, and prototypes. Alongside research, the UX Designer will design the overall functionality of the product and iterate upon it to ensure an outstanding user experience. Ideally we are looking for a UX Designer who can prototype very quickly, preferably with Axure, and who also possesses excellent skill with Sketch.

Applicants for this opportunity should have a background in UI/Front-end Development and thorough experience of UX design best-practises. Candidates should possess a strong sense of graphic, web and native-app design, and a high level of understanding of visual solutions that work across all devices, but primarily a mobile-first approach.

You must be able to apply & communicate solid rationale as part of your creative process, and at all times execute to the highest standards iconography, responsive layouts, data visualization.


  • Translate concepts into wireframes and mock ups that lead to an intuitive user experience and achieve business goals
  • Facilitate the product vision by researching, conceiving, wire framing, sketching, prototyping, and mocking up user experiences for digital products on a wide range of devices and interfaces
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
  • Make strategic design and user-centred evidence based decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.
  • Take a user-centred design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
  • Be able to decide what research and test technique applies better to a given design challenge.
  • Be able to understand and define Information Architecture.
  • Collaborate with other team members (business analysts, product managers, developers, data analysts and commercial stakeholders) in the delivery of the designs.
  • Take smart risks and champion new ideas.
  • Apply digital style guides for the product.
  • Define specifications for developers.
  • Deliver assets for implementation.


  • 3+ years of UX design and research experience. Preference for candidates who have experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments.
  • Expertise in UX software such as Axure, InVision, Balsamiq and the like is a must.
  • Experience in UI software such as Sketch, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Experience in quantitative web tools such as Google Analytics, Hotjar, Decibel.
  • Experience in qualitative user testing tools like lookback.io, whatusersdo.com, usertesting.com
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet client needs and vision.
  • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
  • A solid grasp of user-centred design and testing methodologies, subsystems, and usability and accessibility concerns.
  • Ability to iterate your designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients.
  • Be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders via a distributed model to regularly deliver design solutions for approval.
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum development process
  • Must provide examples of previous online UX and UI work
  • Understanding of basic front-end languages is a significant plus: HTML5, CSS3 Javascript, Bootstrap
