Accounts & Tax Semi-Senior

McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a Top Regional Accountancy Practice who are looking for an Accounts & Tax PQ/Senior to join their growing team in Central London. Reporting to one of the Tax Managers, the role would ideally suit an ATT/CTA qualified tax specialist with past statutory accounts experience or an ACA/ACCA part-qualified with a desire to specialize in Tax. Key duties include:

  • Processing personal tax returns within agreed service levels and quality standards
  • Sending tax returns to clients and arranging for submission to HMRC
  • Assisting with HMRC queries in relation to your portfolio of personal tax clients
  • Learning about the development of tax efficient structures for individuals and their families
  • Liaising directly with clients regarding personal tax matters on the phone and in person
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for a client portfolio of SMEs/OMBs including commentary and analysis
  • Working alongside the accounts department in the finalization of statutory accounts preparation
  • Assisting with company submission of their accounts to HMRC and Companies House
  • Dealing with client queries regarding their business accounts and tax liabilities
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns & monthly client employee payrolls where necessary
  • Maintaining a record of tax returns and payments, ensuring all returns are filed and payments made on time

To be considered for the role, you shouldideally be in a well-known medium or large Regional Accounting firm, seeking a move to another practice where wider responsibilities and a broader client base will be made available to you. Therefore, knowledge and experience of preparing personal tax computations, assisting in the management of client portfolios and past statutory accounts experience is required. With excellent team working skills and relationship building skills, you should be able to help develop new and existing business, work well under pressure yet still deliver on time and budget.
