Billing Specialist (3 month FTC)
Our Client is a large U.S. law firm which represents many of the world's leading companies in complex litigation and other high-stakes disputes, cross-border and other strategic transactions, and crucial regulatory matters. They have offices across America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Due to an increase in workload they are keen to recruit a billing specialist to join their team.
Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of client and matter filings aw well as assisting the team in billing administration, time entries and matter reporting
Assist in the management of the monthly billing process via 3E billing portal liaising with the Accounts Team, ARBMs and secretaries
Develop a comprehensive knowledge of all the processes and IT systems that the firm uses
Liaising and corresponding with clients where applicable
Generate and file Engagement Letters and generate covering letters for bills to be issued
Able to understand and assist in the client engagement process and ensure compliance of time and expense reporting requirements
Raise, monitor and issue appropriate cheques for clients or third parties as required
Monitor emails promptly as required and forward/action as necessary
Establish and maintain effective and accurate filing systems (both hard copy and electronic)
Attend all appropriate developmental training courses as required
Contribute to the team being proactive and helpful to colleagues and other Fee Earners by providing assistance during busy periods and covering for other Fee Earners in colleague’s absence
Learn to effectively manage and prioritise work
Minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent including English and or a minimum of 6 months experience in a professional services environment
Experience in E-Billing and proficient with; Word and Outlook
Some knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel
Experience using 3E billing system or Elite
Previous legal knowledge and or law firm background
Works co-operatively with others and supports the team
Proactive and enthusiastic as well as communicates in a clear and concise way
