A large PRU for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMHD) is currently looking to recruit an English Teacher to teach students at KS4 level. For this English Teacher role, you must have QTS and experience teaching students up to GSCE English. If you have experience leading functional skills then this will also be part of the role as many students will not sit their GCSEs in English/Maths but will complete functional skills instead.
The ideal English teacher:
- Has experience teaching a range of Special Needs
- Can use a range of behaviour management techniques
- Has taught English up to GCSE level
- Has experience teaching to children with SEMHD, either in Special needs school or a PRU setting
- Has QTS
This PRU has 2 sites catering for KS3, 4 and 5 and this role will be based at the main site, which caters for up to 60 students at KS3 and KS4 level. The school is a short walk from Lee station and has excellent facilities on site. Each class has a TA who has experience supporting students with SEMHD so part of your role will be managing them as well. The PRU are committed to re-integrating all students back into mainstream education.
