Part of the Drax Group retail function, Opus Energy is a dynamic and competitive company - in the top six for business to business energy provision. To support our growth vision we are looking to recruit an experienced Sales professional in the role of Head of Direct Sales. This position will be based out of our expanding Cardiff office.

Reporting directly into the Director of Sales Operations, this role will have accountability for leading and building our direct national sales function which is mainly targeted towards SME organisations. You will work closely with our Marketing and Channel Strategy functions with the remit of increasing profitable revenues from Opus Direct sales channel.

Overseeing a function of c20 FTE, you will be responsible for implementing our Sales growth strategy and planning to build upon our direct customer acquisition channel. To do this you will ensure that a 'best in class' operation is in place that delivers a full sales cycle through from initial enquiry to client onboarding. This role will drive a successful sales culture, monitoring employee engagement and ensuring an incentive plan is in place that drives sales performance to deliver on growth plans. Working at a strategic level this position will lead on sales meetings, communicating on all aspects of sales performance, tracking market trends and reporting on KPI's.

The ideal candidate will have a proven record of operating within a high volume call centre sales environment with the ability to lead, motivate and manage a large sales force. You will have a strong understanding of the technologies involved in a contact centre sales operation including a dialler and IVR. Management experience of setting, measuring & exceeding sales targets, KPI's and performance objectives is also vital for this role. Due to the nature of the position you must be charismatic with strong communication skills in order to engage with senior stakeholders across the business. Experience within the energy sector is highly desirable.
