This exciting and challenging Year 3 position you will be leading a mixed-ability Year 3 class of around 28 pupils. The school will enrol you onto their comprehensive CPD schemes to develop your teaching techniques.
Day-to-day, you will be expected to plan effective and engaging lessons and monitor pupil progress closely, ensuring that your class has the right balance to maximise learning potential. You will work alongside a hard-working and extremely capable TA who is on hand to support the development of your class in any way you need. To ensure you find your feet and integrate quickly into your new environment you will be welcomed to the school by and paired up with an outstanding teacher who also works as a Year 3 teacher and ill be happy to show you the ropes and answer any day to day questions and queries you may have.
The school is unique in many ways- they grow their own vegetables and serve them for lunch, they have an enchanted fairy garden, they invest significantly in giving pupils exciting experiences which form the backbone of their learning in the classroom. Their new library facility encourages children to enjoy reading- enhancing their vocabulary and writing. They have developed their own maths curriculum- with 90% of their Year 6 pupils meeting the national expectation in 2016- well above the national average.
The staff are committed to giving all pupils the absolute best education. Part of this is ensuring that their staff have opportunities to grow and develop, with moderation roles with the Local Authority and chances to lead key projects in their school and across schools.
