Account Manager for Leading UK Tour Operator- Across the UK
Established in 1973, Major Travel PLC is one of the leading wholesale Tour Operator brands in the UK. We have been providing flights, hotels and holidays exclusively to over 800 travel agents across the country for over 40 years. In August this year, we will be launching a brand new travel technology platform- something we believe will revolutionise the way travel agents operate in the future. For the first time, Travel Agents will be able to build and price complex multi-centre itineraries and tours without having to pick up the phone to the tour operator. Travel Agents will be able to issue tickets, hotel and car vouchers, cancel tickets and products and make changes to PNRs and reissue tickets all using the self service functionality.
We now need Account Managers to spread the message and promote what we have to offer to new and existing travel agents across the country. We are so confident with our new technology that we believe sales from existing agents will go through the roof whilst travel agents that don’t currently deal with us with move across in their hoards.

This job is about meeting people and building rapport and connections. Applicants will have a natural charisma, charm and sophistication together with an ability to interact easily with people and quickly develop relationships. Quick wit, a laid back style and exceptional oratory skills are all essential for this role.
We are looking for people that know how to sell, and have a very strong work ethic. Applicants will need to be exceptionally well organised and have the self-motivation to be able to go out and establish new clients and increase business from existing ones. You will spend most days on the road meeting travel agents and talking to them about how Major Travel can help them develop their businesses and increase their sales. You will communicate the latest industry developments to our agents, exclusive deals we have that they can promote to their clients and our future development plans that will help them grown their business. You will follow up on meetings from home. Of course, from time to time, you will accompany your agents on Fam Trips to the various destinations we specialise in across the world!
If you have worked in a sales role within the travel industry before, we are very keen to hear from you! Anyone with experience working in Travel is eligible to apply for this role.
We are looking for 10 new Account Managers to join us over the next 3 months. Each successful candidate will be given a company car, laptop and mobile phone. Account Managers will be responsible for meeting travel agents in their geographic area. We are looking for 1 account manager in each one of the following geographic areas:
- London and the Home Counties
- South West
- South East
- East of England
- North West
- North East and Yorkshire
- Northern Ireland
You will spend 1 day every month at the head office in Brent Cross.
The starting salary is £28,000/ annum plus bonuses. Bonuses will be paid on based on the volume of business from new travel agents and incremental revenue from existing agents. Given the unique and phenomenal capabilities of our new technology platform, Account Managers should find it easy to earn some pretty handsome bonuses!
