Our client is a Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company and they are one of the market leaders in the food manufacturing industry. They are looking for an experienced Raw Materials Manager to join their team to manage all aspects of the raw materials from risk assessment to supplier approval.


•Manage & sign off of raw materials risk assessments for the businesses. •Manage the raw material specifications ensuring sign off by Process Development for quality attributes and Technical for food safety ensuring compliance with all retailer requirements

•Manage the approval of suppliers according to the company’s standard including supplier audits as necessary.

•Develop a system for supplier performance appraisals and appropriate corrective actions as necessary.

•Design and Develop a procedure for the introduction of new raw materials and change of suppliers.

•Manage all internal and external incidences relating to raw materials.

•In conjunction with Procurement, manage introductions of new materials/change of suppliers.

•Design, develop and maintain a comprehensive raw materials database to enable accurate completion of finished product specifications and a speedy search in the event of internal or external incidences. Ensure the database is maintained current at all times. Liaise with Central Technical to ensure ease of migration when the Central Supplier and Product Specification Management System are installed.


•Good Computer literacy, including competency with MS Word, Excel and Database packages.

•Good organisational skills.

•Effective communicator (written & oral) at all levels of Management and with both internal and external customers.

•Drive and enthusiasm in all aspects of the Technical role. To be able to work effectively within a team environment and also on own initiative.

•Minimum of an HND (or equivalent) in a food or science related qualification.

•A Clean Driving License & a car (desirable).

Operational hours are from Monday to Friday.

Salary is £35,000 to £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.

The work location is based in North West London.

This is a full time permanent role.
