Trainee Surveyor Programme

When you join CVS you will be embarking on an exciting graduate role in the Specialist Trainee Surveyor programme based at our Manchester office.

This is an intensive 8 week programme covering key skills and practices such as property inspection, case law and the basics of how to conduct a business rates appeal. The training will be split into part classroom and part practical where you will shadow a successful Rating Surveyor. The programme has been carefully designed to provide Trainees with all the practical and theoretical knowledge to become an effective Rating Surveyor.

During training, a personal mentor will be assigned. Full support will be provided and Trainees will be surrounded by experienced, Rating Surveyors to aid their development and learning during the programme.

Completing the Programme

Upon successful completion of the programme, Trainee Surveyors will be assigned to a surveying region, and will begin a 6 month practical property inspection and valuation programme. Afterwards, Trainee Surveyors will be allocated a caseload with the support of a Mentor. Ongoing training will be continued to develop skills in negotiation, settlement of cases and tribunal presentation.
