Enterprise Architect

The Enterprise Architect is responsible for the creation, maintenance and management of IT architecture models and their lower level components. They are required to interpret, use and apply information contained within IT architecture to inform a range of business improvement activities, particularly those involved in the design, development, enhancement and maintenance of IT support systems.

The Enterprise Architect should ensure that the overall IT architecture (current and future state) is communicated in a coherent manner and that appropriate considerations are made for its security and quality. The primary role of the Enterprise Architect is to ensure that the respective business, application, data and technology perspectives are in line with the organisation’s technology strategy, governance, policies and standards.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

1. Recommend and lead activities related to the design, development and maintenance of the Enterprise Architecture
2. Manage, use and maintain IT/technology architecture models
3. Research overall IT solutions on the market for technical requirements and business needs.
4. Implement the strategy for the development of IT/technology architecture work
5. Conduct and/or actively participate in meetings related to the designated projects, locally and where required within Group, with partners- Direct the IT/technology architecture activities
6. Advise and recommend enterprise architecture strategies, processes and methodologies.
7. Implement the strategy for the development of IT/technology architecture work
8. Recommends and participates in the analysis, evaluation and development of enterprise long term strategic and operating plans to ensure that the EA objectives are consistent with the enterprise’s long-term business objectives.
9. Implement the strategy for the development of IT/technology architecture work
10. Shares best practices, lessons learned and constantly updates the technical system architecture requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current and upcoming vendor products and solutions
11. Implement the strategy for the development of IT/technology architecture work
12. Participates in and leads architecture working groups for the development and maintenance of the EA.
13. Implement the strategy for the development of IT/technology architecture work
14. Collaborates with all relevant parties to review the objectives and constraints of each solution and determine conformance with the EA. Recommends the most suitable technical architecture and defines the solution at a high level.
15. Able to implement strategy for the development of IT/technology architecture work
16. Recommend and lead the development of architecture blueprints for related systems.
17. Direct the IT/technology architecture activities

Key Experience, Knowledge and Skills
1. Degree in Computing Science (BSc\MSc)
2. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar position managing Enterprise Architecture
3. Broad knowledge of technology architectures
4. Must be structured, organised and able to prioritise multiple work streams
5. Will have a "can do" attitude and customer focus

Scale of Role:
This is a very technically oriented, senior role. Primarily accountable for leading the work to articulate the technology required to meet our current and future state business strategies. This is envisaged as a 6-12-month contract with a view to establishing a longer-term view on whether this is a permanent role.
