Web & Integration Manager

The Web & Integration Manager is responsible for the creation, maintenance and management of Web and Integration services developed to support the existing and emerging business requirements. Working with a blend of internal and 3rd party development resources to ensure that functional and non-functional requirements are fully understood and built to meet these.

Key Responsibilities

1. To understand and ensure application services are built to meet the existing and future state customer journey.
Presenting initial design ideas to gain support and validate understandings
Using prototypes where applicable
2. Review and define specifications that provide attractive and capable web applications.
Working closely with internal and external teams to ensure the requirements are well understood and delivered to specification.
Ensure built in features for security, compatibility and integration online.
Assess the structure, appeal, purpose and security.
Drawing up detailed services specifications;
3. Identify and use the correct tool sets to manage and track the development of business services
Identifying and using the appropriate development, scripting and content management systems\solutions;
Ensure compliance with legal requirements such as accessibility standards, freedom of information and privacy
4. Manage the technical delivery aspects of software services
Report any issues regarding the delivery of applications services
Produce progress reports on applications delivery
Manage delivery Issues & Risk
Identify options to resolve and mitigate
5. Ensuring that the application services are supportable
Working with internal and third party teams, define and design supportable solutions

Key Experience, Knowledge and Skills

1. 2+ years of production experience with Web (Java) front or back end, and at least 1 year of experience building high-quality web applications for mobile and desktop.
2. A very good understanding of open source web technologies, ideally including familiarity with NoSQL databases, PaaS deployment and the use of third party APIs / authentication services.
3. Experienced Javascript programmer, with experience of recognised languages and toolsets
4. Excellent general development skills and familiarity with modern javascript development practices. Ideally, this would include experience with version control, unit testing, continuous integration and code quality tools.
5. Must be able to lead development discussions, articulate what is required from the development perspective and ensure that the delivery of the solution will be achievable
6. Qualified applicants must be authorised for employment in the United Kingdom and will not require employer-sponsored work authorisation now or in the future.

1. BSc/BA or MSc in computer science or related field.
2. Experience working in an agile development team.
3. Understand the DevOps approach and how to move towards this way of working
