Our client specialises in IT and Office Equipment sales and is part of a huge global technology name that you’ll know well. If you’re 1-2 years into your sales career with a good track record but currently lacking the career opportunities you want, then we would like to tell you more about this amazing opportunity to join a world leader in the electronics sector with annual sales of close to $70billion. You do not need sector specific experience, just the right skills and mindset.
Whilst the parent company offers world-leading products across a wide range of electronics, the division that’s hiring right now specialises in digital document management and multifunction print and copying systems. They offer both hardware and software solutions to their corporate clients from SMEs to huge global corporations. You’ll be joining a UK-wide sales team with a focus on clients in the south of England where they have their strongest and most productive client base.
You’ll be joining a new sales team with an exciting opportunity to develop the geographical hotspot from the south of London to the south coast. Whilst you will be taking over existing clients on your patch, your main priority is to generate new streams of revenue from existing clients and, even more importantly, new revenue from brand new clients. The principal target markets are SMEs and your job will be to find them, call them to assess interest and, if relevant, book a meeting to discuss their needs in more detail. You’ll find new clients over the phone and sell to them face-to-face. You’ll then manage the relationship with them once they’re a client of yours.

You don’t need a background in our client’s sector of electronics or technology though it’s likely you’ll have an interest in one or both. What is most important is your personality, particularly your attitude: positive and professional with an eagerness to learn.
You should be doer, a worker, a person that makes things happen. With an understanding of sales or telemarketing, you know how to source new clients productively and have the credibility to meet senior decision-makers face-to-face. Strong communication skills are a must, of course, particularly when talking to people over the phone or face-to-face. You’ll also have the confidence to present well to senior decision makers, both when selling to clients and when communicating with your own management team internally.
Finally, with client visits part of your daily work, you must have a valid UK driving licence.
The starting salary is £20,000 with On-Target-Earnings (OTE) in your first year of £30,000. Realistic earnings in your second year are £40,000. In addition, you will be provided with a company car as well as other benefits commensurate with a career with a global name such as 25 days’ holiday, contributory pension plan (with % matched by company), bonus scheme, life assurance and discounted private healthcare.
