Graduate Teaching Assistant Specification

This post requires a bright graduate who has previous experience supporting children and earned at least a 2:2 in your degree. The school wants graduates who can build rapport with young people and enthuse others with their natural passion for education. This post requires a graduate who has the skills to support learning across the school and can cater to a range of learning styles and abilities. We want to meet graduates who are open minded and enthusiastic about the prospect of supporting children with additional needs and are not afraid to take on this challenge.

About the Graduate Teaching Assistant Role

This Graduate Teaching Assistant position involves moving across the whole school supporting learning wherever needed. A high level of flexibility is needed for this role as you may be supporting a Year 2 phonics class and helping a Year 6 class with their numeracy in the afternoon. Furthermore, there will be ample opportunities to involve yourself in extra-curricular activities so if you are sporty, enjoy dance, drama, art or music that will stand you in good stead. Training will be provided from day one and you will be included in the school’s weekly staff training which will allow you to develop the required skills, abilities and techniques to become much more than just an effective practitioner.
