Brand new position for an award-winning progressing Colchester based company for an experienced Customer experience manager who is passionate about building products that customers love. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment working with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll-out products that deliver the company’s vision and strategy. As the customer experience manager, you will be the subject matter expert who owns the delivered functionality and any associated user experience of the system (or current initiative) from definition to implementation and optimisation. The company are seeking someone in this new role of customer experience manager who possess experience of writing and developing user stories and has worked at a senior level within a technical environment where you have shared and trained your knowledge with those around you.

The Role

  • Own the product backlog (prioritised list of user stories) and regularly review ensuring there is 'just enough’ detail for each story
  • Translating software requirements to team of developers
  • Deploying new code
  • Ensuring teams using software fully understand and have formal training including issuing written material
  • Writing clear and succinct user stories that have led to successful delivery
  • Support the Business Owner (BO) in developing the overall programme vision and objectives
    Represent the voice of the customer, the business and stakeholders to the team on a day-to-day basis
  • Support the Business Owner (BO) in developing the overall programme vision and objectives as well as defining the programme roadmap with stakeholders and the software delivery team
  • Make day-to-day decisions on functionality / user experience, basing those decisions on knowledge of the business area, customer and empirical evidence
  • Take an active role in Iteration and Release Planning meetings, working closely with Technical Project Managers and Engineering Managers to determine which features will be grouped into releases
  • Encourage and build the innovation capacity of the team by elaborating ideas into proposals allowing the business to understand the cost / benefit
  • Excite and motivate the software delivery team by sharing the value of the business objectives they are working to deliver
  • Effectively influence and communicate with both technical and business stakeholders adapting your style to best engage your audience
  • Assist in the recruitment screening of new staff members, then ensuring that team members are trained and that a continual development program is employed

The Person

  • Have Business Analyst/ Product Manager experience
  • Experience in writing clear and succinct user stories that have led to successful delivery
  • Proven experience in successfully delivering measurable business value through software or initiatives they have defined
  • Expertise in delivering value from Agile methodologies
  • Experience organising and enabling cross functional teams to deliver to tight deadlines working without line management responsibility
  • Experience in completing business and/or systems analysis to contextualise user stories
  • Understanding of interaction design and value chain analysis
  • Previous experience of delivering results & meeting customer expectations to a high level
  • Communicating & Presenting to a variety of levels
