A business with a heritage in supporting utility sector clients and others dating back over 20 years is seeking a Relationship Manager based in the Newcastle office or UK wide.

Providing services to all parts of the utilities sector, this company deploy over 2,500 people, supported by a truly national infrastructure. It provides its services to most of the UK energy market from the largest to new entrants and operates in business and residential sectors.  Underpinned by an absolute dedication to health and safety, this company’s strategy is to become a successful supplier of smart metering and associated services. Its capability in this market is backed up by its excellent credentials, having won major national contracts for a range of customers across a variety of sectors.

As the Relationship Manager, your duties will include:

  • Managing the relationships between MDS and the subcontractors
  • Control of staffing levels and ensure and ensure that your team achieves contract service levels and performance requirements.
  • Liaising with operations support with regards to work issues, ensuring work allocation reflects the KPIs in the sub contract contracts
  • Liaising with the resourcing team and the sub-contractor to ensure new starters are allocated work in a timely manner
  • First line of authority in respect of technical incidents directly attributed to the sub-contractors engineers
  • Dealing with and resolving where possible, local issues involving subcontractor staff and first line complaints or issues raised by consumers or (customers), referring any higher-level issues to the next level of management
  • Understanding and implementing the requirements of the relevant technical / regulatory / legal frameworks of relevant activities and ensuring these requirements are implemented within the sub-contractor companies
  • Participating in training forums to ensure all training material is updated and distributed to the sub-contractor companies.

To be a successful Relationship Manager you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Ability to deal with changing circumstances and complexities in order to deliver objectives and meet KPIs
  • A customer focused approach and strong communications skills in order to provide customer service
  • Technical awareness including an understanding of relevant legislation and regulation i.e. ASPcOP, IGM/7A/7B
  • An understanding of the Company’s environment, goals and objectives
  • Previous training experience and the ability to identify training needs.

In return, the Relationship Manager will receive a salary of £35,000 per annum plus a company car.
