This is a new position within the Accounting function of a leading Insurer within the Lloyd's of London market. Reporting to the Solvency II Accountant, you will assist in producing the Syndicate reporting requirements for the companies Managed Syndicates. 

You will be responsible for coordinating inputs from Actuarial, Management Information and Finance to produce external regulatory submissions with a particular emphasis on Solvency II, Pillar III. The role will involve assisting with the transition of the Solvency II reporting process into the business as usual environment. The role will also provide strong opportunities to cross train in external reporting and providing Management information in relation to the Syndicates.

Key responsibilities:

- Assist with the production and completion of Lloyd's Syndicate returns, primarily relating to Solvency II
- Assist with the production of the Solvency II Technical Provisions and maintenance of the IT models

- Become an expert in analysing the reporting outputs and communicating these results to the business and Management teams

- Produce and maintain key data governance documentation
- Involvement with the on-going design and development of the teams reporting solutions

- Develop strong working relationships with Key stakeholders across the group
- Support Syndicate function by undertaking ad-hoc projects, adding value to the business

Person specification:

The ideal candidate will:

- Possess strong IT skills in particular excel with experience using a range of applications
- Have an interest in developing IT/Finance  systems and model building
- Have experience working with Cognos (Analyst) ,this would be beneficial not essential.
- Display an understanding of the process and procedures run by a finance team
- Can demonstrate the ability to quickly assimilate knowledge of Syndicate / non-life insurance reporting
- Consider working towards an accounting qualification
- Confident communicator who builds good relationships across the business
- Ability to maintain excellent attention to detail whilst working with high volumes of data and tight deadlines.
