Lead Behaviour Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, innovative and enthusiastic Lead Behaviour Practitioner to support our Consensus services in England, Wales and Scotland.

We’re Consensus, an award-winning independent provider of support services for people with learning disabilities and additional health and social care needs. Our role is to provide people-centred support - support that starts each person we support on the road to greater independence, empowering them to reach their full potential.

As the Lead Behaviour Practitioner you’ll provide support across Consensus giving strong leadership and taking responsibility for designated strategic objectives across the organisation. You’ll be responsible for a team of seven Positive Behaviour Practitioners, providing them with direction and allocating responsibilities to ensure the people we support and colleagues, receive the appropriate support.

Line managed by our Director of Operations, the successful candidate will have excellent leadership qualities and will most recently have been operating at a senior management level. Their skills and experience of working with people with learning disabilities and Autistic Spectrum Conditions who present challenges, will be solid, and they’ll have strong knowledge and understanding of current legislation, the principles of managing challenging behaviour effectively and the value of implementing a person centred approach as well as being passionate about improving lives of people with learning difficulties. They must also have a relevant qualification will be might include a Diploma or Masters, or equivalent, in a related subject (e.g. Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Positive Behaviour Support) and a relevant management diploma or degree.
