VP of .Net Engineering - Global Online Entertainment Giant

Following a long term strategy and investment into Engineering, a leading online entertainment company have created a new position for VP of .Net Engineering to create a best of breed centre of excellence for .Net Engineering.

Reporting into the CTO, the VP of Engineering will be responsible for creating a strategy to identify and implement a best practice approach to engineering based on modern engineering, delivery and DevOps approaches following Agile, Scrum, SOLID, DRY, YAGNI, Automation and CI/CD principles and toolsets.

The VP of Engineering will be responsible for raising the profile of Engineering, creating communication plans and working collaboratively with relevant Engineering Managers, Delivery Managers and DevOps (who report into this role), assisting them in the adoption of new processes and tools, removing high level impediments and engaging at grass roots level on a team by team basis ensuring blockers are removed and the change is adopted and embedded into the teams.

Utilising the full functionality of relevant tools such as Octopus Deploy, the VP of Engineering will also create a governance and reporting framework around delivery to enable engineering and delivery metrics to be captured and analysed to help identify blockers, impediments and areas for operational efficiency and improvements.

The VP of Engineering will also be responsible for working closely with and influencing on a peer and board level to ensure initiatives are adopted across cross function teams within technology (e.g. support and infrastructure teams).

The successful VP of Engineering will have a pedigree in .Net engineering and will have come from a engineering background before moving into a Head of or VP level position within the online B2C industry, and will have played a leading role in Agile transformation / implementation of Agile and delivery best practices within a .Net Engineering environment.

This must have been done at scale, this could have been achieved in a large scale Engineering and Delivery team as a VP or Head of, or likewise, this could have been achieved working for an Engineering best practice Consultancy where you devised and implemented a similar strategy for a large scale client and supported them through the adopting of best practice Engineering and Agile processes.
