Our client is a successful and growing legal firm with a head office based in Bristol and other offices based around the South West and Wales.
We are delighted to be assisting them with their need for an Accounts Assistant. This role is to assist the Accounts Manager with performing the cashier function in accordance with the current Solicitors Accounts Rules.
Responsibilities will include:
Deal with electronic receipts received on Lloyds Link; Client Account bank reconciliation; stop out of date or lost cheques; client to office transfers, client to disbursement transfers, post bills; High volumes of Electronic payments using Lloyds Link, disbursement postings; issue client and office account cheques Process cheques received and banking; re-order paying in books and supply to fee earners as required; file bank statements and reports
Possible transfers; application of client account credit interest; client ledger housekeeping to deal with aged client balances; monitor and respond to emails in the Accounts inbox deal with queries and provide assistance where possible
For this role, it is essential you have gained some experience in accounts and have an interest in working in a legal accounts team, as well as:
A well organised individual who can work accurately under pressure when required
A Good Knowledge of current Solicitors Accounts Rules
Able to work as part of a team and provide support for other team members
Confident with computerised accounts, case management, email, spreadsheets and online banking
Institute of Legal Cashiers membership (desirable)
Great communication skills
