Main responsibilities
Support Group Expense Manager in production of high quality expense reporting, analysis, planning and support running monthly expense reporting processes; support management & coordination of offshored expense processing team.

Deliver High Quality Information
• Support production of monthly expense report including budget variance statement
• Support expense accounting in the nominal ledger, ensuring expenses are allocated to correct year of account/entity/account code in cooperation with offshore team
• Oversee accrual process ensuring large (>£50,000) are accrued each month
• Run monthly allocation process; ULAE and DAC calculation
• Prepare monthly project spend reporting
• Responsible for Fixed Assets maintenance incl reports & monthly deprecation runs
• Support of production / challenge of year-end forecasts/budget for Group and business units; support syndicate YOA ultimate cost budget / forecasts
• Support production of overhead cost allocations & recharges across Group / between entities and cost allocations across YOAs
• Assist in update and maintenance of corporate allocations module
• Responsible for dealing with all audit queries regarding expenses
• Manage production and output from offshore expenses team
Provide Business Insight and Partnering:
• Support production of a detailed analysis of expenses on monthly & quarterly basis
• Preparation, analysis & challenge of cost budget data
• Responsible for preparing expense commentaries for business unit and Group management packs
• Support regular and ad hoc cost analysis / reporting on Group and business unit cost
• Support capitalisation decisions
• Maintain expense procedures and authorities policy

Skills & Experience required
• Experience in a management accounts team, ideally in an insurance company focusing on expense accounting
• Experience at a senior management accountant level in a group with multiple companies
• Experience of insurance accounting and cost analysis & reporting processes
• Experience in managing processes given time constraints
• Qualified or advanced part qualified accountant or equivalent with a good level of experience, in particular expense related activities
• Advanced MS Excel; good knowledge of SUN GL, TM1, vision reporting or equivalent
