Based in the heart of Canary Wharf for a global logistics / shipping company, this Project Manager 18 month contract role is responsible for leading, overseeing and ensuring the management and delivery of single and multiple projects, that are performed by internal and external IT resources.

Although this Project Manager contract role does not have direct reports, it will require indirect management of all project members including third party suppliers and staff in senior positions.

As Project Manager within the Business IT Solutions team, you will manage complex IT / Business projects, requiring a highly IT literate, degree educated Project Manager with proven experience managing large projects. Ideally you will have a Project Management qualification, such as Prince2 or PMI and good knowledge of MS Project.

This Project Manager position is on an 18-month contract basis.

To be successful in this Project Manager contract role, you will have:

*Degree or equivalent IT qualification
*2 + years' within a project management role with proven experience managing large projects
*Ideally Prince2 / PMI qualification or equivalent
*Strong knowledge of MS Project
*3 + years' IT experience
*Strong management and development skills
*Analytical, logical approach with strong problem solving talents
*Solid understanding of the software development process
*Strong customer focus
*Excellent communication, both spoken and written

Key areas of accountability within this Project Manager position include:

*Indirectly managing the Project Team
*Planning and controlling activities in the Project Plan
*Ensuring project goals are accomplished
*Producing the Project Initiation Document and Initial Project Plan
*Identifying and scheduling resources
*Preparing project status reports
*Reviewing project progress and proposing corrective action as required
*Reviewing project proposals
*Owning and maintaining the Project Risk register
*Communicating plans and status to management
*Managing changes
*Chairing regular project review meetings
*Attending and chairing project steering group meetings
*Preparing stakeholder communications plan
*Co-ordinating and responding to requests for changes
