Client Account Manager - Legal Services Firm
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a sales focused BD specialist to join a small team based in an innovative legal services organisation at the forefront of an industry growing at an unprecedented rate.
The Client Account Manager will be key in informing the firm's overall approach and strategy to client management and business development. As a member of a four strong management team you will work closely with the firm's Operations Manager to manage clients and ensure their overall satisfaction, retaining business and growing it. You will need to be equally happy drumming up new business from scratch, generally by targeting key contacts in firms generated from referrals, and also managing the prospects you grow over time. You will be responsible for the day to day account management of existing client relationships, conducting monthly and quarterly review meetings face to face with clients and overseeing contractual obligations including fee uplifts and renewals. The Client Account Manager will be tasked with identifying growth opportunities within the firm's client base, pitching new services and cross selling shared services offerings and also with identifying a pipeline of target clients through research, and subsequently approaching key contacts within targets including Operations Directors, CEOs, HR Directors and Managing Partners with a view to securing an opportunity to pitch the firm's services to them. You will prepare for and then lead all client-facing meetings that you set up and support other client meetings alongside the UK and South African based Directors.
The ideal candidate will be an open-minded and ambitious graduate who will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment. Credibility will be a prerequisite for the role of Client Account Manager and, as a primary point of contact for UK clients, you will need to demonstrate a proven professional services track record of engaging and building trust with senior professionals whilst always maintaining an eye for detail. In addition it is essential that you are highly self-motivated, getting a genuine buzz from winning new business and growing accounts. You also need to have a genuine interest in the changing legal market and in ensuring that clients receive the best possible experience throughout their dealings with the firm and must be able be able to demonstrate a softer and consultative sales approach required in a professional services context allied with a willingness to suggest new and unconventional ways of approaching things
