The Role

A great opportunity for an experienced Product Merchandiser to join a contemporary, trend setting and fast paced brand!

As Product Merchandiser, you will work within the Product Merchandising team and report directly to the Head of Product Merchandising. You will work cross-functionally with the Retail Merchandising, Global Sourcing Offices, Design, Technical, Product Development, VM and Creative Studios teams, whilst keeping up to date all delivery schedules, buy assortments and various product trackers.

You will have a keen eye for product and a track record of accuracy. You will be responsible for ensuring that all product is selected carefully, based on sales history and current trends whilst mindfully managing the product life-cycle from the sample process through to all stores.

What Will I Be Doing

  • Managing individual product categories throughout complete product lifecycle, building seasonal range plans, recommending buy selections and product pricing, and analyzing sell-in and sell-out
  • Preparing and analyzing weekly sales reports using Excel pivot tables and macros to present in weekly trade meetings, providing actionable reporting and insightful commercial analysis
  • Building and presenting quarterly sales analysis to drive seasonal range plan requests and present to department management and Design
  • Suggesting in-season actions to maximise sales and profit opportunities
  • High level of communication with cross functional teams
  • Communicating sales feedback to Design, to influence development of future ranges and drive a balanced and commercial range
  • Develop strong partnerships with Global Sourcing offices to achieve seasonal cost and margin targets, whilst ensuring high product quality and on time deliveries
  • Pro-actively reviewing product costs and retails to drive intake margin and focus on commercial opportunities
  • Managing product data entry in assortment plans, including costs, retails, seasonal themes, and purchase order numbers
  • Conducting competitive analysis including Pricing Analysis
  • Coordinating market prep processes and materials, with support from Product Merchandising Assistant, to ensure relevant sales history
  • Managing and maintaining systems with extremely high level of accuracy

What Skills Do I Need for the Role as Product Merchandiser?

  • Own and manage product Solid experience of working for a commercial vertical fashion retailer at a product merchandising level – Menswear
  • Understanding of product life cycle, from system set up to delist/markdown strategy
  • A natural ability to manipulate data to produce reports with accuracy and efficiency
  • An ability to understand the priorities of retail and head office functions
  • Able to understand and appreciate the design aesthetic
  • A meticulous approach to organisation and state of the art timekeeping to manage teams workload and deadlines
  • Attention to detail is key as this is a fast paced role, so a sharp eye is essential
  • An analytical approach combined with a track record of accuracy illustrated though previous experience
  • Team player who collaborates and communicates effectively at all levels
  • Strives to achieve and drive the best results possible for the brand
  • An intense passion for commerce/product, with a natural commercial instinct
  • Strong sense of initiative, with ability to independently prioritize individual tasks and deadlines

  • A strong aptitude in Retail Math
