PR & Communications Assistant Manager To £58,000 pro-rata

An excellent opportunity for an immediately available PR and Communications professional looking for a role with a very well established and highly regarded professional services organisation. This will initially be a maternity cover, the company are happy to consider a candidate looking to work on a part-time basis as well as full-time.

The main function will be to help lead the PR & Communications function to deliver its objectives in line with the firm`s Practice Development strategy and to protect and enhance the firm`s reputation, effectively managing any crisis situations.

Key duties

Manage the firm`s relationship with the media, through regular contact with key members of the press; arrange and attend press lunches/meetings as appropriate

Manage the PR agency to deliver on agreed objectives; direct activity and act as liaison point between senior staff and agency to steer the message and obtain approvals

Write and issue press releases, comments, articles, internal comms announcements, etc. and oversee/edit/advise on those produced by the PR & Comms Exec and PR agency

Identify and target key journalists, pitching stories in line with the goals of the PD strategy. Work with relevant partners/managers to produce content, manage approvals and ensure timely delivery for publication

Produce appropriate messaging for key firm-wide documents and projects, working closely with the Marketing Manager

Deliver key projects as specified in the company development strategy, working with the Marketing Manager as appropriate

Meet regularly with the Senior Partner and Managing Partner to discuss, review and advise on relevant PR & Comms issues/initiatives

Coach and help develop the skills and experience of the PR & Comms Executive, particularly in the area of media relations; oversee their work and provide support on any issues

Coach partners in media handling and prepare them for interviews as required; provide coaching on writing articles to partners/managers as required

Advise on press office enquiries and any reactive crisis management

Evaluate and report on PR activity, measuring its effectiveness in line with the PR & comms objectives of the PD strategy
