Occupational Therapist - Working Age Adults Team

Medicare First is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Qualified Occupational Therapist to work full time working within the Working Age Adults Team based in Essex. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Adults operations and be registered with Health Professions Council as an Occupational Therapist.

The pay rate for this Permanent Occupational Therapist role ranges from £30,000 to £35,000

Occupational Therapist Duties Include:
-The aim of the Working Age Adults Team Occupational Therapist is to undertake assessment of risk involving safeguarding of vulnerable adults/carers and their families across a range of settings. Taking responsibility and working with individuals facing complex social and family crisis across a range of settings. Promoting autonomy and development with individuals who have complex needs and are more vulnerable to exclusion and working with communities, individuals and families to promote their personal strengths.

-The post holder will be responsible for working with individuals who have complex social needs and are more vulnerable as a result of disability, exclusion, or diminished capacity.

The role requires you to be mobile throughout a wide operational area including travelling around the County of Essex and beyond, transporting service users and their belongings and to be able to do so in an emergency. Driving licence and car or ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means is essential.

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:
- Diploma of the College of Occupational Therapists or B Sc.O.T. or other professional qualification recognized by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.
- Registration with the Health Professions Council as an Occupational Therapist
- A sound knowledge of equipment and adaptations available to promote independence.
- Case load management in line with the Care Act
