Sales Co-Ordinator


Gap Personnel are proud to be representing a leading manufacturers in their search for a Sales Co-Ordinator/Internal Sales Assistant.

This is a full time permanent roll with a salary of 18k-22k per annum.

The purpose of this job is to promote the full range of products and services to both potential and existing customers. Use a range of selling techniques effectively to identify opportunities and maximise profitable sales.

Performance Objectives:-

  • To understand your customer base and liaise with the external account manager regarding customer requirements.

  • To manage enquiries form initial contact to invoice customer by identifying the products or materials required by the customer, offering alternatives if necessary to profitably maximise the sales of goods.

  • To exceed personal sales target through maintaining control of discount/margin on existing customer ledger.

  • To identify new customers by regularly making proactive sales calls. During these outgoing calls you will capture and convert any sales opportunities whilst developing your relation with the new customer.

  • To maintain knowledge of products and materials, their qualities and uses, sizes and quantities in which they are sold, remaining aware of price movements as a result of price increase, scarcity of stock and special offers.

  • To participate and drive your development through training and learning from others.

  • To ensure all c ash and credit sales procedures and documentation are completed correctly without error, maintaining a day book, auctioning all enquiries/orders taken.

Person Specification:-

Knowledge/Skills - Essential

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Ability to identify, understand and respond to customer needs.

  • Desire to progress and improve skills and abilities.

  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Ability and confidence to make outgoing sales calls to prospective new customers.

  • Ability to work as a member of a team.

  • Sound product knowledge.

  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise.

  • IT experience.

  • Good numerical skills.


  • Knowledge of company procedures.

  • Previous experience in a similar role.

  • Negotiation skills.
