2nd Line Cloud Support Engineer, Windows VMware vSphere VCP Exchange

ROLE SUMMARY

The Cloud Engineer will be a reliable and thorough IT professional who will deliver 2nd level support to clients and internal users including the management of cloud services. They will primarily be responsible for the operation of Cloud Services and delivering internal projects.

KEY DUTIES

  • Resolution of client issues
  • Resolution of infrastructure issues
  • Manage, operate and upgrade systems
  • Troubleshoot problems
  • Identify and log recurring issues using the problem management procedure
  • Action or assist with the installation, alteration or ceasing of client services
  • Action or assist with elements of projects as required by the company
  • Coordinate escalation of issues to third party support providers
  • Coordinate escalation of issues to Senior Engineers where applicable
  • Manage priorities and workloads
  • Communicate effectively in a timely manner
  • Complete all work in accordance with the internal compliance procedures
  • Create and maintain documentation
  • Supporting team management and Security & Compliance Officer in all areas of operations security
  • Supporting team management and Security & Compliance Officer in the management of security incidents/events
  • Supporting team management by taking responsibility for information security being included in the planning and delivery of department projects both internally and for clients
  • Maintain and develop professional skill set
  • Support, mentor and knowledge share with other members of the team
  • Foster strong working relationships with customers

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Good communication skills both written and verbally
  • 3+ years technical experience gained in an internal IT team or within a consultancy
  • Industry recognised professional technical qualifications
  • Proven track record in support methodologies, e.g. ITIL.
  • Sound problem analysis skills and an ability to manage and deliver under pressure
  • Knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory 2008 and 2012
  • Knowledge of VMware Infrastructure, with VCP certification
  • Knowledge of Exchange 2010 and 2013
  • Knowledge of networking
  • Experience designing, installing, configuring and maintaining all types of server, storage and network hardware
