Data Centre Supervisor urgently required to oversee the continued successful operation and development of a team of I.C.T engineers on site ensuring they have everything they need to provide both Remote Hands & Smart Hands (1st – 2nd Line Support) to the client & their customers on site within agreed SLA’s.

Your will be required to assist the Client Data Centre Manager daily, providing support where necessary in a variety of areas relating to Data Centre operations. Compiling various reports and driving through change to better improve processes on site where necessary. This role will also involve project planning and project design.

You will also provide on-site support for the provision and maintenance of ICT and Engineering services within the data centre environment. These activities typically include the provision and fault diagnostic / rectification of network channel connectivity, installation, relocation & decommissioning of IT equipment (servers, switches, routers etc) and general engineering maintenance & housekeeping of the critical services.

Key Responsibilities

To manage unforeseen circumstances that occurs and provides relevant feedback to Client and our clients management where necessary.

To Mentor & motivate the I.C.T team providing them with regular feedback to ensure they continually improve and Identify areas for training where necessary and put the business case forward to either the Contract Manager or the I.C.T Manager (If Technically related)

To receive, respond and assign Break Fix tickets within the agreed SLA timeframe or escalate promptly if they cannot be resolved promptly.
To receive, assess and complete patching / de-patching requests (both copper and fibre) within the agreed SLA timeframe and to applicable internal, manufacture and industry standards.
To receive, assess and complete IT equipment installation, relocation and decommission requests within the agreed SLA timeframes and to applicable internal, manufacture and industry standards.
Ensure all deployments are installed to applicable internal, manufacture and industry standards.
Provide smart hands problem solving support (server reboots, backups, visual inspections etc
To escort third party engineers and ensure their compliance with the site standards.
Both oversee & carry out daily housekeeping checks of the data halls and record their findings.
Ensure that all records are updated following any changes made and that documentation is also kept up to date for processes.
Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared, and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices at all times.
To develop a good working relationship with all staff members and the Client representatives.
Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment.
Supervising and monitoring of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance.
Preparation / Creation & Delivery of the I.C.T Monthly Report to the Client & Internal Management.
