Electrical Project Engineer

We are looking for 3 contract Electrical Project Engineers (Control and Electronics) to be based in Leamington Spa for an initial 6 month contract based in Leamington Spa. This is for a Defence systems company that provide specialist support to the Ministry Of Defence that demand high integrity and complex systems to meet their challenging requirements.

The Electrical Project Engineer will be a key member of a small team of electrical engineers, responsible for supporting various engineering activities that cover the full product life cycle from initial concept generation through to engineering sign off and production support. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will support a variety of projects ranging from vehicle electrical system design to small integration tasks and engineering investigations.

The Electrical Project Engineer will expected to undertake a variety of duties:
* Providing status reports on the progress of individual engineering activities to management

* Preparation of harness drawings and circuit schematics
* Analysis of electrical and electronic architecture requirements
* Produce system and component level requirement specification documents
* Engage in system specific design reviews, problem resolution and root cause analysis
* Carry out viability assessments of competing technologies and systems
* Produce accurate, high quality engineering reports
* Provide support to production manufacturing activities
* Support vehicle trials and exhibitions as and when required - both in the UK and abroad

Professional experience and/or qualifications:
Degree qualified engineer with at least 2 years industry experience, preferably in the field of vehicle or electrical engineering. You will need to demonstrate strong self-motivation, have a good work ethic and be able to operate willingness to learn and develop new skills. Must be able to perform under pressure and to tight timescales whilst reporting to management.

* A broad base knowledge of low voltage DC electrical systems and CAN bus
* Be able to demonstrate a structured approach to problem solving
* Have a proven track report of technical project delivery
* Effectively communicate information to multi-disciplined engineering team members
* Have the ability to interpret vehicle system requirements and propose appropriate design solutions
* Willing to travel within the UK and Overseas, if required
* Must hold a full driving licence and be insured for business travel
* Hold or be capable of holding security clearance up to the level of SECRET


* A proven history of involvement in the design and development of vehicle electrical systems
* Contemporary knowledge of existing and emerging technologies in the areas of vetronic systems
* Experience of electrical system integration and testing
* Experience of low volume specialist vehicle design and development
* Knowledge of VeSys, Creo Schematics and/or other ECAD systems
* Knowledge and experience of using CAN system analysis and development tools
* Experience of working with PTC Windchill or other Product Lifecycle Management tools

Because of the nature of the role applicants must be able to obtain Full UK government security clearance (SC)
Rate: £30.00 to £35.00 per hour Limited - dependent upon experience.
