We are currently working with a world renowned manufacturer based in Barnsley with their search for a General Ledger Accountant. This is a rare opportunity to join a newly created team due to a takeover of the business.

Working under the Senior Finance Manager and alongside the Financial Accountant, this role offers variety as well as normal month end routine. The role would suit an individual who is qualified by experience in the following role.

Duties include;

-Support the preparation of month-end accounts.
-Posting of journals, maintenance of month end file including working papers and monitoring task list compliance.
-Submission of management accounts to group.
-Distribution of cost centre reporting to management.
-Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
-Monthly reconciliation.
-Investigation & Corrective journals.
-Escalation with stakeholders as necessary.
-Fixed Assets Register.

Suitable applicants will;

-Have experience in a similar role.
-Be qualified by experience (although part qualified/qualified candidates will be considered).
-Be confident working within a demanding business.
-Ideally have experience working for a manufacturing/engineering business.
-Have excellent systems skills - ideally with experience of SAP.
-Have experience improving processes and controls although this is not a pre-requisite.
-Be prepared to travel intermittently in the short term.
