A local authority in South-West London are looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager on a three months contract.

Main accountabilities:

1. To lead and manage key projects within the Transformation team for the delivery of all change Readiness related projects and associated dependencies from inception through to completion including the commissioning and management of supporting consultants.
2. To produce, co-ordinate and manage comprehensive technical/strategic reports, feasibility studies, option appraisals and any other relevant study to inform and provide advice to project stakeholders in the management, formation and progress of projects and programmes, as well as ad-hoc advice.
3. To be the Councils champion on the delivery of all change readiness design and related services by developing best practice through creativity, innovation and professional development so that the objectives of the Corporate Property Strategy and Corporate Plan are met and lead on developing best practice to achieve the Councils wider objectives.
4. To provide support to service departments to fully consider project requirements through feasibility studies to establish prudent delivery programmes and budgets.
5. To run feasibility studies in house, and avoid the unnecessary use of external consultants.
6. To prepare Project Initiation Documents for the approval of the New Civic Programme where required.
7. To prioritise all commissioned projects, allocate resources, monitor and lead the delivery to meet the agreed objectives in accordance with the Councils standing orders, legislation and EU procurement regulations.
8. Prioritising projects to ensure that all projects have an allocated in house Project Manager to oversee delivery and compliance monitoring.
9. To personally lead on the delivery of high profile and complex projects.
10. To ensure compliance of with the Programme Terms of Reference including the Council's Governance framework and the Council Standing Orders for all commissioned projects.
11. To support the Head of Transformation in managing operational budgets as allocated.
