My client is looking for a BMS Controls Commissioning Engineer with the following experience.

- Minimum 10 years experience in the construction controls industry working for a controls contractor
- Specific experience with Direct Digital Control (DDC) system design, installation, testing and commissioning specifically for Trend and Automated Logic (ALC) control systems. Trend experience is a must.

- Experience to the controls programming level a plus
- Deep and thorough understanding of the Commissioning delivery process through design, construction and post occupancy phases
- Deep understanding of integrated building systems performance requirements for HVAC, Lighting, Electrical and Fire/Life Safety Building systems
- Ability to perform Technical Design Review for constructability, energy efficiency and maintainability purposes
- Ability to perform Technical Submittal Reviews for conformance to project requirements
- Ability to develop Technical Functional Performance Testing protocols for all controls modes of operation utilising design and contractor submittals. Must have good technical writing skills
- Ability to execute and document Functional Tests in the field working collaboratively with client representatives, design engineers and performing contractors
- Ability to perform trending analysis, utilising building controls system trend data, to monitor and communicate building performance over time
- Ability to solve technical problems and provide solutions on systems integrations and performance to deliver best in class facilities that are optimally designed, operated and energy efficient
- Ability to perform commissioning project management from project inception to delivery. This includes client liaison management from a reporting, communications and delivery perspective
- Ability to be creative, persuasive and challenge the status quo in an effective manner to ultimately bring higher client value

Main Duties:
. Ensure full compliance on all H&S matters
. Carry out day to day business of:
• Software Engineering (Trend or Tridium or Siemens)
• Graphics Engineering
• Fault diagnosis on building control systems
• Installation
• Commissioning
• Documentation: Description of Operation, Controls Schematics, Network topology drawings, reporting etc…
. Support the energy audit team with surveys, technical knowledge, expertise and methodology around the project rollouts. Including the preparation of business case and ROI analysis
. Operate as the key contact for site based issues or queries.
. Provide support to the operational teams in their execution of energy projects; supporting the delivery teams with onsite coordination, instruction, commissioning and training for all field personnel including specialist sub-contractor chain.
. Take ownership of small projects to include new site trials and standard project execution.
. Attend site progress meetings where required.
. Assist commissioning and other energy engineers as required.
o Responsible for handover on project completion to the client and/ or Matrix service delivery team
o Responsible for initial verification of project savings against targeted performance.
o Complete weekly time sheets and adhere to all company ISO procedures.
o Assist with the development and deployment of technical solution within the project constraints of time and cost, to Matrix standard.
o Develop and prepare common engineering standards across the technical services team to include standardized control schematics, description of operation, software strategy, point naming convention, graphics etc…
o Ensure that the completed project is capable of delivering the business benefits defined in the sales proposal.
o Motivate other team members assigned to the project to ensure high quality deliverables are produced.
o Any other duties deemed necessary by the Directors of the company.
o Carry out dilapidation surveys.
o Carry out system and software backups to our central servers

o Accountable for managing and engineering (own) projects to cost/ labour estimate
o Accountable for successful technical management of suppliers and any appointed engineers
o Accountable for H&S compliance on (own) individual projects.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience (not all are required)
• Qualifications
Further Education (HND or Degree in any of the following: Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, IT, etc…)
or
Formal Apprenticeship in electrical discipline
