Process Engineer / Continuous Improvement Engineer

A Derbyshire business which has seen huge growth in the last year and is able to predict continued good growth is looking for an engineer who has good experience with making improvements within a manufacturing facility.

The duties of the Process Engineer will involve:

-Making improvements to the layout of the manufacturing facility helping the product flow more efficiently

-Improving manufacturing processes to improve product yield / reduce waste.

-Working closely with existing teams in the business including Production, Quality and Maintenance to extract knowledge that will lead to better processes

-Create KPI's so that business can benchmark themselves against quantifiable data

-Maintaining KPI's and tracking improvements

-Investigating non-conformance issues down to route cause analysis level with Quality team

-Using Continuous Improvement tools and rolling these out across the business so that everyone at all levels is bought into this mind-set

The successful Process Engineer will:

-Be a qualified engineer, ideally with an HNC of equivalent

-Have worked in a manufacturing environment involved with continuous improvement and process improvements. Background coming from Engineering, Production or Quality, ideally with good exposure to all of them

-Proven ability to make improvements within a manufacturing facility. With tangible information as to the project and results

-Have good communication skills and personable nature able to win hearts and mind and get everyone aiming for the same goals and direction

-Good knowledge of continuous improvement tools. Exposure or certification with Six Sigma would be an advantage however not essential.
