Kingston
Salary £37,144 - £40,485 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance

Our client is one of the highest performing Colleges in London, rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in June 2016. The College has reinvigorated its focus on improving the student experience, raising student aspirations and delivering consistently good and outstanding teaching, learning and assessment. As a major provider of further, higher and adult education to over 10,000 students, their staff have quality at the heart of everything they do.

Their 6th Form School has been established to enable all GCSE’s, A Levels and Functional Skills to be taught in a single department.

As a Team Leader, you will manage a team of 10 English Teachers who teach A Level English Literature, A Level English Language and Literature, GCSE English Language, GCSE English Literature and English Functional Skills. Your focus will be on the operational management of these qualifications with a clear target of improving success rates through developing teaching and learning strategies.

Recognised as a good or better teacher, the successful candidate will have excellent current teaching skills in at least one English qualification taught within our 6th Form and have experience of leading and managing A Level English, GCSE English and/or Functional Skills English, with a track record of making sustained improvements.

Hardworking and flexible, you will have a strong vision for the improvement and development of the curriculum area and have experience of managing, supporting and developing staff. They are looking for someone who has high personal standards and expectations, the ability to work well under pressure to agreed deadlines and who has experience of successfully monitoring and supporting ‘at-risk’ learners to achieve or exceed their potential.

A teaching qualification is not essential however they do ask that you hold a Degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject and have current knowledge of impending curriculum changes and the implications for teaching and learning strategies.

So if you are an experienced leader with energy, enthusiasm and passion for English and education, then they would love to hear from you.

Closing Date: Wednesday 28th June 2017
