The Role

As a Customer Liaison Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for the following;

*

Operate as first point of contact on site at OEM customer.
*

Ensure a high profile is maintained on site at Customer when you attend
*

To project a professional image of the company to customers/visitors and represent the client at customer meetings.
*

Full ownership of customer concerns; Build 8d teams both locally and remotely, working through containment to route cause and corrective actions.
*

Manage on site containment / inspection actions.
*

Supply detailed feedback to manufacturing, Quality and Engineering teams.
*

Produce weekly management report.
*

Investigate warranty claims, ensuring that ownership is disseminated correctly.
*

Manage customer portals.
*

Ensure business is operating in line with TS16949 and ISO9001 quality systems.

The Candidate

*

The Quality Engineer ideally will have served either an engineering apprenticeship or be qualified to ONC level or above.
*

Ideally have a minimum of two years' experience as a Resident/Customer Liaison Quality Engineer or an associated role within an automotive manufacturer or first tier automotive supplier.
*

Experience working as a supplier to automotive OEM preferable
*

Excellent practical experience of Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949,
*

Ability to adhere to company quality systems and procedures
*

Internal audit qualification.
*

Knowledge of Welding, Roll form, pressed parts and assembly processes.
*

Hold a Full driving licence.
*

A sound knowledge of automotive quality systems
*

Good knowledge and application of core quality tools APQP, PPAP, MSA, FMEA
*

Good problem-solving skills. Fluent with Root Cause Analysis and corrective action procedures.
*

Comprehensive understanding of containment action.
*

Comfortable working remotely from wider business.
*

Ability to coach and mentor teams / members.
*

Good computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
*

Comfortable liaising with automotive customers and delivering in line with high expectations.
