General Description

As a key member of the Controllership team, and reporting to the Financial Controller, the Assistant Financial Controller will be responsible to support and review the accounting and financial reporting activities, as well as supporting the regional statutory compliance requirements for the particular legal entities in the areas of responsibility.

The Controllership group ensures the accuracy and completeness of the monthly financial statements, and is responsible for all legal entity statutory, financial compliance, corporate reporting according to local country GAAP, and audit requirements. The Controllership group will represent Finance and support the tax and legal teams in the execution of financial matters and initiatives.

Primary Duties

The Assistant Financial Controller is responsible for the Controllership requirements for the particular legal entities, in addition to supporting the US GAAP close.

* Responsible for the USGAAP close for the particular legal entities

* Perform analytical review of period end financial results
* Respond to monthly questions from management on the balance sheet and P&L review
* Review account reconciliations and liaison with Accounting Services (AR, AP, Order Entry, Payroll) and Corporate Accounting to ensure the accuracy of financial information for internal and external reporting
* Liaison with Business Planning & Analysis regarding financial matters when required
* EMEA Region covering Germany, Switzerland.

* Responsible for statutory financial reporting and support the Tax team in the execution of their local financial and government reporting responsibilities

* Prepare legal entity financial statements based on US GAAP and local country GAAP
* Maintain reconciliation between US GAAP and local country GAAP, and document local country GAAP adjustments
* Prepare working schedules and reconciliations for the external auditors
* Provide support during statutory audits as part of the interim field work audit and year-end review process
* Provide support material for tax compliance requirements
* Monthly, quarterly, and annual VAT reporting and compliance
* Provides general support and information to the business as requested
* Provide assistance for ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required

Skills and Knowledge

* Finance and accounting experience, preferably in a technology company.
* Strong understanding of US GAAP. Local country GAAP and IFRS knowledge is an asset.
* Detail, deadline and results oriented with strong analytical skills.
* Proven self-starter with proven ability to work independently and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic and changing environment. Able to adapt to change and new processes.
* Excellent interpersonal skills; capable of communicating in professional and courteous manner with peers, customers, vendors and management.
* Excellent oral and written English communication skills. European language skills (German) are considered a major asset.
* Proficient in MS Office applications, with advanced Excel skills.
* Experience in Great Plains, SAP, and BPC is an asset.

Academic

Accounting designation (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA) or BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related major
